UPDATES TO NONSUBSCRIBER FIDUCIARY DUTIES UNDER ERISA TO BE DISCUSSED AT TXANS 22ND ANNUAL NONSUBSCRIBER CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION
Most private sector employers that provide employee work-injury benefits as a nonsubscriber do so under the auspices of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act or ERISA. ERISA’s fiduciary rules are vital to satisfying the responsibilities of a plan sponsor so Messrs. Williamson and Craig will offer updated information on new decisions and regulations that impact fiduciary duties, procedures, disclosure and compensation related to a Texas nonsubscriber program.
Kent Williamson’s practice focuses on the defense of Texas employers who elect to opt out of the Texas workers’ compensation system. He has represented nonsubscribers from a variety of backgrounds in state and federal court, before arbitration panels and in several appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court.
Mark Craig provides legal advice and representation to nonsubscribing employers, specializing in the defense of lawsuits brought by the employees of nonsubscribers. He has extensive experience representing Texas nonsubscribers in both on-the job injury claims, and claims for ERISA benefits in United States District Court, Texas District and County Courts and various arbitration tribunals throughout the State of Texas.
TXANS 22nd Annual Nonsubscriber Conference and Exhibition is scheduled for March 21-22, 2012 in Austin, Texas. TXANS Annual Nonsubscriber Conference is a key educational resource for employers and industry professionals who provide and support the provision of workplace injury benefits outside traditional workers’ compensation.
