EMPLOYERS MUST POST ANNUAL INJURY & ILLNESS SUMMARY ON FEBRUARY 1st
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requires covered employers to post the OSHA Form 300A, Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses, by February 1st. Information is drawn from the OSHA Form 300, Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses which is used throughout the year to classify work-related injuries and illnesses, noting the extent and severity of each case. Covered employers must keep an OSHA Form 300 log for each establishment or site. If more than one establishment is involved, a separate log (Form 300) and summary (Form 300A) must be maintained for each physical location that is expected to be in operation for one year or longer. The summary must be certified for accuracy and completeness and must remain posted until April 30th. The OSHA summary reflects totals for the year in each category. Copies of OSHA forms, posters and a list of partially exempt industries are available in the forms section of the TXANS website.
