U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY THANKS TXANS FOR HELPING BUSINESSES PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES
Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff recently thanked TXANS for participating in a national program to help increase awareness regarding preparations for all types of emergencies rather they be natural or manmade. As a part of this program TXANS provided information to TXANS member companies and other businesses on how to prepare and develop emergency preparedness programs. In addition to these efforts TXANS arranged for representatives of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to make presentations at TXANS local meetings in a number of cities throughout Texas.
In expressing his appreciation Secretary Chertoff stated that, "your organizations dedication and energy stands as a testament to the difference we can make by working together to build a culture of preparedness in this Nation. As a result of your efforts, millions of Americans have heard the message and are taking steps to prepare their families, businesses, schools and community."
